The US-China GREEN Business Exchange

Over the next 10 years, the United States and China will spend more on green technology and environmental cleanup than any other two nations in the world.

Vast markets for clean tech solutions are being created by each country's huge energy, water and related natural resource challenges.

For example, by 2020, China plans to spend nearly $200 billion to increase renewable energy use to 15 percent of total supply as well as reduce the energy that its buildings consume by 65 percent.

In the United States, the US Department of Energy and the State of Hawaii have established the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative (HCEI) to capitalize on renewable energy and energy efficient technologies that will reduce 72% of Hawaii’s current crude oil consumption and sharply reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Situated almost between China and the mainland US, Hawaii’s near perfect climate, sophisticated meeting facilities, world-class accommodations, and endless sightseeing opportunities make it an ideal setting for this conference, and Hawaii’s collaboration with the US Department of Energy to supply 70% of the island’s energy through clean technology by the year 2030 makes this island state a highly regarded player in the innovation and development of GREEN technology.
